How to use Google Scholar
Why use Google Scholar?
- Google Scholar is a free database of scholarly materials gathered from many different sources.
- Google Scholar contains articles, books, court cases, academic publications and much more.
- Click on the gray arrow below labeled "Google Scholar" for the direct link to Google Scholar.
- Type in your search using the Boolean operators AND, OR, NOT
- OR - On the right side of the search box, click on the arrow and select Advanced search.
- Advanced search is a Boolean search using phrases (click on the arrow in the right of the the search box to find it).
- Limites can be set on:
- Specific Authors
- Who published the material
- Specific date range
- Limit to a particular file type:
- Select from many options on the menu
- .pdf - would find only pdf documents.
