- What is a biography?
- A biography is a book or article written about someone.
- What is an autobiography?
- An autobiography is a book written by the person themselves. For example if Jim Parsons from Big Bang Theory wrote a book about himself, it would be an autobiography.
- What section of the library are biographies located?
- Some libraries keep biographies in the 900's specifically 92 or 921 (see Dewey decimal classification)
- Other libraries keep biographies through out nonfiction. For example if the person is a musician he/she would be in music.
- Would you perform a keyword search or subject search?
- A subject search looks in the subject headings part of the record for standardized subjects.
- A keyword search looks through out the cataloging record. The information could be mentioned in the title, summary, or review of the book.
